Nomiya Maki
Nomiya-san is the former lead singer for Pizzicato Five, of which I'm a big fan. I have loved this ridiculous costume ever since I saw the Youtube video of her performing "Cosmic Night Run". And then she came to Toronto, and SHE WORE THE OSTRICH DRESS!
So I got to see it in person and take careful notes, and decided on the spot to make it, even though nobody would ever know what I was supposed to be dressed as. It's just so crack-tastic that I couldn't resist.
The dress is heavy bridal satin and is all hand-embroidered with sequins and metallic cord.
