Gozer - Ghostbusters
Another one that's been tempting me for years. A couple years before I made this, the original costume turned up in a warehouse sale; it was in rough shape after being stuffed in a box for 30 years, but a guy recognized it straight away and bought it, then posted detailed photos online. When I saw those photos, I decided I had to make the costume. My only stumbling block was what to use for the bubbles, as I needed bubbles of varying sizes.
Transparent Worbla wasn't a thing yet, so I heated plastic salad containers and stretched them over wooden balls of 2 different sizes. The biggest bubbles are plastic christmas ornaments. Some of the bubbles have iridescent cellophane and acrylic gems inside.
I also had to make duct-tape forms of my arms and legs in order to hand-sew the spiderweb fabrics and bubbles in the correct places according to my reference photos.
